NCPA, or the National Centre of Performing Arts, in Mumbai, has in its 50-plus years, hosted unforgettable performances. The large arts complex by the sea in Nariman Point is home to five different spaces, and a café serving up scrumptious fare (the cold coffee is fantastic). I, like the rest of Mumbai have fond memories of engaging in theatre, music and literature in those premises—a show by the Symphony Orchestra of India (established by NCPA in 2006), experimental theatre and standup comedy, musicals like Aladdin and Mughal-e-Azam, the list is endless. If there is one thing I want to do once we re-emerge from the lockdown, it is head to NCPA for a performance.

Staying true to its tradition of giving its patrons the best of theatre, NCPA too, is moving with the times. Starting today, April 3 at 6 p.m., they will be launching shows on YouTube—taped versions of the best. See the calendar here:

And catch the shows on their YouTube page. Too good to be true, isn’t it? Here’s a video of table maestro Zakir Hussain performing with the Symphony Orchestra of India.
