Abbey Road conjures the image of The Beatles’ Paul, John, George and Ringo walking across the famous zebra crossing in London. But the road also lends its name to an iconic recording studio on its stretch, where the pop band recorded their hit albums. In the years since, legends like Pink Floyd, Kanye West, and Lady Gaga have also recorded here. Now, thanks to a contest by Airbnb, you could spend a night at the Abbey Road Studios.
To participate, you only need to answer one question: “Abbey Road Studios has been the birthplace of some of the most iconic tracks of all time. Which song do you wish you had been there for while it was being recorded, and why?” To enter the Abbey Road contest, participate here. The contest ends Thursday October 6, 2016.
The winner, along with three guests, will be flown in from their location to London on Saturday October 15, 2016. Best of all, the evening’s host is Grammy-winning music producer Mark Ronson, who collaborated with Bruno Mars for the acclaimed track Uptown Funk.
The Abbey Road sleepover is the latest showcase from room-rental website Airbnb, which recently hosted a night on a floating room on the Great Barrier Reef.
Closer home, pay tribute to The Beatles at The Revolver hotel in Darjeeling. Rooms are named after band members John, Paul, George, Ringo, and their manager Brian (Epstein), and filled with quirky memorabilia like photos, posters, and collector’s edition stamps featuring the musicians. More here.
