In anticipation of a tourism spike around Diwali, airlines introduce new flights and IRCTC rolls out holiday special trains.

If you’re looking to travel this Diwali, planning your itinerary just got easier. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is operating holiday special trains during the festive months of October and November, The Varanasi-Bhatinda Special, Lucknow-Hazratganj Nizamuddin Special, Lucknow-Anand Vihar Terminal Special, Gorakhpur-Chandigarh Special, Varanasi-New Delhi Special, Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Special and the Lucknow-Nangal Dam Special will improve connectivity between important junctions across North and Central India.

Similarly, airlines like GoAir, SpiceJet and Air India have announced new flights leading up to these months. GoAir has announced new international flights on the Kolkata-Singapore and Bangalore-Singapore routes starting October 18, whileSpiceJet has announced 46 new domestic flights across the country starting October 27. It has also added Rajkot as a new destination on its domestic network. Apart from the new routes, the airline has also increased the frequency of flights on popular routes.

Starting October 29, Air India is offering four new non-stop flights on the Delhi-Doha route, followed by direct Mumbai-Nairobi flights in late November. Apart from the new flights, Air India is also offering 25% discount on domestic flight tickets under the Ghumo India Family Fare scheme.
